The profile starts anonymous

A profile has two states: anonymous and public, and the default is anonymous. While it is anonymous, it does not appear on the discovery screens.

Becoming public is an active choice, not something that happens by inertia after signing up.

Visibility per piece of information

Beyond the profile's general state, each attribute has its own visibility — going public does not force you to show everything.

The Compass answers

Each answer is private by default. You can mark an answer to go into the summary, and only then does it feed explanations visible to other people.

Answers on sensitive topics are locked to private and cannot be displayed, even if you want them to be — the lock sits before the preference.

Exporting your data

You can request a full export. It is prepared in the background and the download link is valid for seven days.

The export contains YOUR data. Other people appear only as a reference, never with the content of their profile embedded — and it cannot contain the text of your private messages, because the server never had that text.

Deleting the account, with thirty days to change your mind

The deletion has to be confirmed by typing the confirmation word — an account is not erased by an accidental tap.

After that there is a thirty-day window in which the deletion can be cancelled. Once the window passes, it completes.

Blocking

Blocking someone is not just making that person disappear from the screen: it tears down the conversation authorization, the chat requests, the match proposals and the reveal access between you.
